I am a dynamic and passionate social worker, driven by values of justice, equity and empowering marginalised people. With 14 years' social work experience, and a previous career as a journalist/copywriter, I am a dedicated agent of change, committed to facilitating social change at a micro and macro level. Having worked in a clinical leadership position for a large non-profit disability services organisation in SA, I have developed a keen interest in supporting and mentoring fellow social workers and allied health professionals. Providing quality clinical supervision is a key focus of my work and I am committed to supporting other professionals seeking to develop their reflective practice and clinical skills.A large amount of my experience is in the disability sector and I hold AASW Disability Accreditation, recognising my expertise in this space. I have provided social work and support coordination in the NDIS context since the scheme rolled out in 2013, and continue to do this work through my business, Inclusive Social Work. I also currently work part time as a student counsellor across primary and high school settings. As a deeply reflective, relational person, my commitment to social justice and empowerment informs my strengths-based social work practice and leadership style.My passion for full inclusion and diversity in communities and workplaces is a driving force in the work I do. I work to empower people at the intersections of marginalised identities, and care deeply about enabling the rights of First Peoples, women, LGBTQ+ and elderly folks, refugees and people of colour. As a white, educated, cisgender person, I recognise the privilege I have came at great cost to others. I live and work on Kaurna country and respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land, and pay respect to First Nations Peoples and their elders, past, present and future. I recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and injustice continues to this day, and commit to walking and working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a spirit of harmony.
