With my father being in the military, I have lived in several places that have extremely diverse populations. Now that I have settled down, I realize how beneficial moving was for me. It allowed me to experience different cultures and partake in activities I never thought I would. I am a better leader, I am more empathetic, and I strive to continue to make a change in my community. Currently, I am on six school committees including the student council, history club, and HOPE Squad. Hope squad is a student-led organization that advocates for students with mental illness. Those on this committee are tasked with reaching out to struggling peers and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. I am also part of a group that is responsible for developing a D.R.I.V.E.N committee. D.R.I.V.E.N’s main goal is to instill good leadership in younger students. My peers and I will be responsible for mentoring and establishing these traits in the younger generations.In the future, I plan to attend UW- Madison to become an elementary school art teacher.
