Over nearly 4 years, I moved from producing 69 News at Noon, to 69 News at 5:00 and 69 News at Sunrise: Weekend Edition, and finally to 69 News at 4:00.In these roles, I:- pitched story ideas;- weighed the news value of national, international and local stories to determine which should be included in the show;- decided on the format, length and order of those stories;- strived for creative, engaging language throughout my scripts;- found and approved corresponding video and pictures;- collaborated with anchors, senior producers and reporters;- line produced from the control room, which included calibrating live shots, cuing meteorologists and reporters, responding to sudden changes or issues with quick thinking, adding breaking or developing news, and keeping the show on time.- set up in-studio interviews with live guests (experts, chefs, charities, pet of the month, themed series);- came up with creative takes on pop culture talkers;- made sure to balance news and community values.Career highlights:- regularly oversaw breaking cut-in coverage, including the Bill Cosby guilty verdict and the announcement of a Pennsylvania grand jury's findings about sex abuse in the Catholic Church;- produced 15+ hours of live wall-to-wall snow coverage during the blizzard of January 201 6;- contributed to live coverage of the capture of Eric Frein, accused cop killer on the run in the Poconos;- produced the first news program live from WFMZ's new remote studio at the PPL Center in Allentown;- coordinated an annual live panel discussion with theater experts ahead of the Academy Awards;- created special morning show segments like Self-Help Saturday, 69 News Search for a Sweetheart and Married in May.
