I work one on one with students struggling with mathematics at both the high school and college level. I reteach concepts, teach test taking strategies, and foster critical analysis and thinking skills as applied to mathematics. I also help students build confidence in their mathematics abilities through repetition of skills and critical discussion of their reasoning behind problem solving strategies.

I develop and deliver curriculum in honors and AP level mathematics classes for college-bound students. I prioritize finding creative and engaging ways to deliver content and building individual relationships with students to facilitate understanding of their own learning style and how to best serve them in the math classroom. I also act as an academic advisor and counsel students about educational goals, study skills, and personal growth throughout their middle school and high school careers.

I developed curriculum for Google classroom and G-Suite functions and ran a week long training for the rest of the faculty of James Madison to prepare for online distance learning during the 2020-2021 school year. I provided tech support for both the Microsoft suite and G-Suite of programs, specifically Google Classroom to educators. Also, I researched best practices for distance and digital learning and then helped other teachers adapt curriculum to a distance learning in a way that addressed student needs and maintained curriculum integrity and rigor.

I worked in a multi-grade upper elementary classroom, using the Montessori method of education. I taught Pearson mathematics to 5th and 6th grade and assist students in problem solving skill development in mathematics. I also assisted students with editing and revising skills, vocabulary development exercises and reading comprehension. I facilitated students' character growth by holding them accountable for their actions and choices in both the social and academic spheres. I also tracked student progress and manage record keeping of student work.

I simultaneously took classes for graduate credit and TA'd the undergraduate senior level class equivalent classes. This included designing and administering assessment, including creative activity based authentic assessment and with technology integration. I also developed and presented multiple lessons including hands on applications and real time assessment of students. I collaborated closely with the Instructors about classroom management and pacing, topic coverage, grading, and future improvements on the material and teaching methods.

I assisted students in conquering hard concepts in mathematics courses in the Math Lab offered through the LeTourneau Achievement Center. I also assisted in developing study skills and test taking strategies for mathematics students.

I worked individually with students in a self paced learning environment to assist them in completing Intermediate and College Algebra. I explained topics, help students learn to trouble shoot their own math processes and assist with administrative tasks including test proctoring and student progress analysis. In this position, I have had substantial experience working with International Students and English Language Learners. This has challenged me to creatively express math concepts in ways that bridge cultural and language gaps.

I tutored individual students in multiple subjects, including mathematics and social studies. I also taught personal study skills for multiple subjects for both Junior High and High School students.
