My name is Olivia Elgin. I am from the small town of Waxhaw, which is south of Charlotte, North Carolina. I am currently a graduate student at East Carolina University in the Master of Science in Accounting Program. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Carolina University in December of 2022 with my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with the concentrations of accounting and finance. I am a member of the international business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the international honor society for accounting, finance, and information systems, Beta Alpha Psi. During my undergraduate studies, I shared my passion for mathematics and analytics by tutoring courses in accounting, economics, and management information systems at East Carolina University’s Pirate Academic Success Center. After I graduated with my undergraduate’s degree, I expanded my skills and knowledge through real world experience as a Tax Intern at RSM US LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. I am honored to be a recipient of the RSM Accounting Scholarship and the NCACPA Scholarship to assist me in expanding my education. I am on track to obtain my CPA license upon graduating with my master’s degree in May 2024. Through my experience thus far, I have developed skills such as critical thinking, team venture, verbal and nonverbal communication, and many more. Although my education is coming to a close, there is still so much more I am eager to learn. I am exhilarated to begin my career and face real world challenges which will expand my knowledge and further develop my skills to shape me into a successful professional in the industry.
