I’m a UW-Milwaukee student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Aging. With this passion for older adult care, I am a board member for the Student Gerontology Association at UWM in order to learn and spread more information about the needs of older adults.I currently work at Roger’s Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Technician in the Adult and Child & Adolescent Inpatient Units. In this position, I work with individuals who are suicidal, bipolar, have anxiety and depression, are detoxing, in psychosis, etc. My role is patient safety, care, and support focused. I’m also currently working as a Peer Mentor at UW-Milwaukee. As a Peer Mentor, I work with a roster of around 80 first year and transfer students to help ease their transition to UW-Milwaukee is as smooth as can be. My role is based on goal setting, outreach, and creative problem solving.I am pleased to announce that I am interning at Froedtert South this fall as a social work intern. In this position, I’m able to shadow experienced medical social workers, participate in interdisciplinary care coordination rounds, and help connect patients with the necessities for their discharge.
