In my five-year degree in Nanotechnology Engineering at the University of Waterloo, I am finding opportunities to participate in many extra-curricular activities and complete projects in lab settings. Quantum Valley Investments chose my partner and I as finalists in the Problem Pitch competition for our research into lab-on-a-chip technology and through this I learned the value of presenting our finds in a persuasive business-worded way. Under the direction of my mentor, I completed an internal assessment lab project, where I designed a lab experiment to research salicylic acid degradation using an electrochemical-oxidation cell. Finally, I attended the BioTech 2020 and Waterloo Nanotechnology Conferences where I learned about applications of nanotechnology for biosensors and how nanotechnology is being used in the environment to promote sustainability. During the Spring of 2021 I worked in Project Management at Year Zero Studios ensuring operations went smoothly for the Grapevine, Future of Work, and Kaput start-up projects. Currently, I am working as an Engineering Project Assistant in Redevelopment at St. Micheal's Hospital in downtown Toronto.
