During the course as a graduate student and my time in my professional career, I have discovered I am in the process of constantly learning and overcoming challenges. My Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Master of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology, and the professional experience I have accumulated (currently being a billing analyst and case manager in the skilled nursing facility setting) has allowed me to obtain a well-rounded, valuable healthcare perspective. This has inspired me to analyze challenges that not only achieve targeted goals, but to always do so in a manner in which truly brings about a noticeably positive impact for all stakeholders involved.Previously, I conducted research for the CDC's National HIV Behavioral Surveillance on 500 individuals in order to decrease HIV incidence in Washington, DC. The data gathered throughout this research led to the improvement of the lives of those living with HIV across the country by addressing critical areas of focus for public health officials and policy makers. I now have over 3 years of experience in my current work as a Medicare and Medicaid biller and as a Medicare Advantage Case Manager for residents in a 165 bed skilled nursing facility. In all my roles and experiences, I have ultimately acquired the ability of analyzing large amounts of data and transforming this information into something meaningful. Being involved in a field where my work can have a direct impact on those I serve is something in which I find fulfillment.
