As a Girls Who Invest Scholar in the Online Intensive Program, I have accessed invaluable resources that have significantly bolstered my readiness for a career in finance. Through this program, I've engaged with accredited alums in the investment industry, participated in insightful Q&A sessions with top leaders, and completed rigorous coursework that has enriched my skills. I've had the privilege of attending group calls with influential figures, where I've gained profound insights into their career trajectories and investment philosophies. Additionally, my comprehensive training through the CFA Institute has taught me about various roles within the financial sector, including investment foundations, inter-departmental dynamics, and insights into alternative investments and private markets. Recently, I successfully completed Wall Street Prep courses encompassing accounting, financial filing analysis, and an intensive Excel crash course. Mastering these courses has equipped me with the ability to decipher the accounting narrative of companies, analyze crucial ratios specific to different industries, and extract valuable insights from financial filings for company valuation and deep analysis.Furthermore, I've honed my Excel proficiency, swiftly navigating large datasets and utilizing advanced functions such as pivot tables, lookup functions, mathematical functions, and text functions. Through the Project Destined module, I've also gained a deeper understanding of the real estate investment market. I gained a practical understanding of cap rates, property valuation, and sources of capital and their implications for returns. Currently, I'm diving into the Wharton module to ensure I am well-prepared to thrive in the competitive landscape of the finance industry.
