I am pursuing an MPhil in Economic History at Cambridge University. My research focuses on the development of mathematical probability in early modern Europe and its influence on economic growth and free market thought.Previously, my research concerned the origins of 'transhumanism' in 18th century France and ideas of biophysical human development through automata.I have 4 years of research experience, specializing in early modern European art history and Enlightenment philosophy. I worked with grant from the National Institute of the Humanities to digitize the Stanza della Segnatura and Pope Julius II's literary collection. In addition to looking at the past, I am also interested in Futurism. I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue Futures Studies in Finland. I also received a scholarship from the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto to research solutions to overconsumption. I am especially interested in longtermism and mitigating humanity's existential risks.
