Current- Developed the National Cancer Institute Design System (NCIDS) based on the United States Web Design System (USWDS, utilizing TypeScript and Sass to ensure brand consistency and efficient website development for all NCI organizations.- Implemented Storybook to showcase and test UI components in isolation, improving collaboration with designers and ensuring consistency across the application.- Built documentation site to showcase the NCIDS for developers, designers, and content creators using Gatsby and React to improve adoption and usage of the system.- Implemented the NCIDS on cancer.gov’s custom Drupal theme with analytic tracking for improved user experience and engagement.- Ensured that all NCIDS components are compliant with Section 508 accessibility guidelines.- Utilized a suite of testing tools including Jest, Pa11y, and BackstopJS to identify and address issues early in the development process, resulting in improved code quality and a more streamlined development cycle.
