More than 35 years of progressive experience in organizational development, collaboration, learning, and sustainability initiatives at local, regional and global scales. Since 2012 I have provided organization-wide leadership in capacity development, knowledge management, partnering, and networks, all to address the world's most pressing conservation and sustainability challenges. Currently, my focus is on implementing a network-based global learning strategy to help conservation practitioners understand and apply Conservation by Design 2.0, TNC's recently updated core conservation methodology. My conservation career began in New York where, as TNC’s Lower Hudson Chapter Director, I co-founded two local conservation organizations and advised on the creation of a third. I have piloted several capacity building programs that are now national, regional or global in scope, have served as an internal consultant and trainer for fundraising, network leadership, knowledge management, and partnering, and have launched or managed several learning networks and Communities of Practice. While managing the Conservancy’s Global Partnership Practice, I oversaw the creation of the conservation sector’s most comprehensive on-line learning resource for partnership practitioners, the Conservation Partnership Center. Most recently, I oversaw the creation of the Conservation by Design 2.0 website, designed as a learning and co-creation resource for conservation practitioners worldwide.I am passionate about developing and strengthening capacity in communities, teams, leaders, and organizations. I am respected for effective program leadership and staff management, excellent facilitation and coaching skills, and a facility for fostering strong teams, networks, and partnerships.
