Profile bio

About Olivia Smith

I was born in Melbourne, and grew up in Noosa surrounded by a family of small business owners. Being so close to the beach instilled a deep respect for nature in me, and I think my career was always going to head in this direction.I worked in advertising, communications and event management for over 20 years and along with a Masters in Marketing, I learned a lot working with brands like Ford, L’Oreal, CPA Australia and Jetstar.Helping them identify niche markets, and grow their market share with tailored campaigns gave me an insight into how big brands operate, and when I finally found my way into the renewables industry, it all kind of fell into place.I was fortunate enough to help Enphase Energy enter the Australian market, and over the following five years I led their APAC PR and communications strategy, raising brand awareness from zero to category dominance.I worked side-by-side with thought leaders and CEOs at the highest levels of the industry. I saw the true potential of a clean energy future, experienced resistance to the energy transition we all really need, and eventually I knew I had to do more.So in 2018, Gabriel Wong and I set-up Positive Good, a marketing & communications agency that specialises in the cleantech & renewable industry, and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve done so far. We’ve helped global brands launch products into the Australian market, and we’ve helped Australian brands take on the world. We’ve helped visionaries commercialise their ideas, and helped developers shift perceptions for clean energy projects. We’ve truly accelerated the clean energy revolution, but there’s still a long way to go so if your brand, business, product or project needs some help gaining traction, then please get in touch, and let’s get to work.E: olivia@positivegood.com.auM: 0402 044 811W: positivegood.com.au

TLC for kids is a non-profit organisation that has provided urgent relief and distraction to more than 6 million kids in hospitals and their families. Founded in 1998, TLC for Kids was always a well-known and loved brand in the health care sector but its continued growth was contingent on a great deal of awareness and fundraising. TLC for Kids has since achieved national awareness among the broader public through activations such as Tracky Dack Day, Marawalk, 3AW693/Magic1278 Radiothon and the Kmart in-store fundraising campaign. In my final months at the charity I prepared the nomination that saw CEO Tim Conolan named 2014 Australian of the Year Local Hero.
