I am currently working as an Instructional Student Assistant for the Product Design and Development class at Cal Poly. The class is a continuation of the product modeling and communication class I previously assisted with. Product Design and Development focuses on design research, and prototyping. Student teams have the opportunity to discover consumer needs and develop a product addressing those needs. I give weekly feedback to each team on their progress and offer my opinion on the form and function of their ideas, as well as advice on their decision making strategies.

I am currently serving as the President of Cal Poly's student chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America. I am passionate about design and founded the club with 2 other students. My responsibilities include leading meetings and workshops where our club talks with professional designers or develops design related skills like sketching, rapid idea generation, 3D Modeling, 3D printing, rendering, and prototyping. I handle our meeting schedules, coordinating the communication between our club officers. Our vice president, treasurer and I collaborate on balancing our budget, and planning special events like our trips to the annual International Design Conference. Since starting the club, we've gained 20 members and had 30 successful meetings, with lots more to come!

I worked as a product modeling and communication instructional student assistant while the class was being offered in fall. This was an introductory course which familiarized students with CAD software programs and 3D printing. My primary responsibilities included answering specific solidworks related questions during class, meeting with students to help with modeling assignments, and giving modeling strategy recommendations.
