Expanding over an eight-year timespan, I have been fortunate to gain extensive experience within both government and private education systems across metropolitan, regional, remote and overseas locations. As a teacher with full registration, having undertaken four university practicums in complex demographics and previously working as an OSHC educator, tutor and mentor; I have obtained fundamental skills to provide high quality education and achievement for all. It is my role as an educator to facilitate lifelong learning opportunities that are accessible to every student regardless of circumstance; underpinning the development of active and informed citizens who can thrive in and beyond the classroom. Maintaining respectful and positive relationships in a safe and inclusive environment remains at the forefront of my practice. As does delivering authentic learning experiences that correlate an individual, curriculum and site level which is achieved through my flexible and reflective nature. My partial studies in a Bachelor of Speech Pathology founded my passion and interest in literacy and language. I delved further into this whilst on my final rural University practicum where I conducted research for my Honours Inquiry Project. I investigated ‘In what ways might oral language support reluctant writers in a low SES F-2 class?’ and wrote a report highlighting my findings. This led to the achievement of obtaining the University Merit Award in UniSA Education Futures 2021 signifying the accomplishment of a grade point average in the top 15% of all undergraduate and postgraduate students in UniSA Education Futures.I embrace all opportunities and strive to uphold the highest of effort and joy in all that I do.
