I have been responsible for the development and establishment of a community based, private out patient X-ray facility from inception to launch and manage facility operations on a day to day basis. The service was created in response to increasing demand for faster access to routine radiography services in the local community without the need to wait or travel excessively. The role to date has required the recruitment of a highly experienced clinical team of IMC radiologists, CORU registered Senior radiographers supported by a radiation protection, clerical and administrative team. The role also requires a significant regulatory compliance overseer aspect and our team was pleased to achieve full compliance with new regulations, relating to medical exposures involving Ionising Radiation, following HIQA inspection in September 2021. We are licenced by the Environmental protection Agency.In addition I have overseen the upgrade of the Radiography system from CR to a full Carestream DRX 1 Digital Radiography system offering patient images of the highest resolution with digital enhancement assisting clinical staff with diagnostic evaluation.

Through this role, I specialised in the diagnosis, conservative treatment, rehabilitation and management of muscular, nerve and skeletal disorders and in particular those relating to the spine and patients with chronic spinal pain. On site facilities includes X-ray and computerised gait analysis for the provision of custom made orthotics.I was the practice lead involved in research conducted with RIKON at Waterford Institute of Technology on workplace management of back pain. I enjoyed featuring as regular guest contributor on South East Radio in the area of musculo-skeletal health.

Working within this role, I was involved in the provision of diagnostic and treatment services to private clients. In addition I was contracted to provide diagnostic, treatment as well as ergonomic services on behalf of corporate clients in the manufacturing Industry with employees who had sustained injury in the workplace. This involved the diagnosis and treatment of all types of muscular and skeletal injuries including neck and back pain as well as giving workshops and ergonomic assessments in manufacturing environments.
