    Equitable Building Decarbonization Advocate
Natural Resources Defense Council (Nrdc) Jul 2022 - Jul 2024
    Santa Monica, California, United States
I provided technical and advocacy expertise for local- and state-level building decarbonization policies and programs, including those focused on energy efficiency, electrification, clean energy sources, and healthy and affordable homes. My role rested under the Buildings Sector Division of NRDC's Climate and Energy program, working to put people at the center of our environmental work by taking a holistic approach to policy and program design.
  • Natural Resources Defense Council (Nrdc)
Technical Strategist (Buildings And Energy) For The American Cities Climate Challenge
Natural Resources Defense Council (Nrdc) Oct 2020 - Jun 2022
    Santa Monica, California, United States
Bloomberg Philanthropies' American Cities Climate Challenge began in 2018, selecting 25 U.S. cities for an acceleration program with powerful resources and access to cutting-edge support to help them meet – or beat – their near-term carbon reduction goals related to transportation, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. As a Technical Strategist with the Buildings and Energy team within the Climate Challenge, I delivered targeted technical support for city policies and programs related to building decarbonization and energy efficiency to four of our participating cities: Portland, OR; San Jose, CA; San Diego, CA; and Honolulu, HI. I also supported project-wide network learning opportunities for all Climate Challenge cities pursuing aggressive buildings- and energy-related policy. The Climate Challenge concluded in June 2022.

As a Research Associate with the Buildings and Energy team within the American Cities Climate Challenge, I focused on technical research as well as resource creation to support our cities' building decarbonization policy and programmatic goals. I also coordinated several Climate Challenge network learning forums as they related to building energy performance standards, energy and water benchmarking and transparency, and private sector engagement.
  • Natural Resources Defense Council (Nrdc)
Program Coordinator For The American Cities Climate Challenge
Natural Resources Defense Council (Nrdc) Sep 2018 - Feb 2020
    Santa Monica, Ca
As the Climate Challenge Program Coordinator with NRDC, I supported cities' energy reduction goals through building energy efficiency programs and helped coordinate internal operations for our team of 24 NRDC staff as we built the project from the ground up. My role included contract and grant management, staff hiring and onboarding, resource and blog creation, and policy research, among other administrative and logistical tasks to support my team and our cities.
  • Natural Resources Defense Council
Program Assistant For City Energy Project
Natural Resources Defense Council Nov 2016 - Aug 2018
    Santa Monica, Ca
The City Energy Project created healthier and more prosperous American cities by improving the energy efficiency of buildings. In my role, I provided day-to-day support of the team in a variety of capacities including research, resource creation, budget and grant management, contract management, and event planning. I worked in a team of 6 staff members at NRDC and 8 staff members at our partner organization, the Institute for Market Transformation, to pass and implement highly impactful energy efficiency programs and policies in 20 American cities and counties.
  • Yale Department Of Geology And Geophysics
    Research Assistant
Yale Department Of Geology And Geophysics Aug 2013 - Jun 2016
    New Haven, Connecticut
Worked as a laboratory assistant in a clean lab before starting my own research in Yale's Paleomagnetic Laboratory under professor David Evans. In that lab I completed my senior thesis project: Refining the Mesoproterozoic Paleomagnetism of the Congo Craton, Northern Namibia, for which I collected my own samples in the field and conducted my own preparation and research in an effort to reassemble ancient supercontinents. My work was later included in a broader article published in Geology titled "Direct Mesoproterozoic connection of the Congo and Kalahari cratons in proto-Africa: Strange attractors across supercontinental cycles," for which I am listed as a co-author.
