I have a genuine love for people, and take that mentality into everything I do.If you're familiar with the DISC assessment, I'm a type I. Typical type I traits are people-orientated: enthusiastic, big-picture-thinking, persuasive, and talkative. Talk to me for too long, and talkative makes perfect sense! And while my talkative nature can, at times, derail a given topic, I've come to embrace these traits and see them now as essential to fostering collaboration and driving innovation.My favorite quote goes like this: "There are only two creatures of value on the face of the earth: Those with the commitment and those who require the commitment of others." -John AdamsI like the duality of it. For the longest time, I never wanted to be a person who required the commitment of others. I trained myself to be dedicated, driven, and self-reliant, but I've come to realize the power of a person. Great people need the help of even greater people.Being a resident assistant at the University of Georgia has taught me the profound impact of mutual commitment. Not only did guiding freshmen through their pivotal first year show me firsthand how crucial it is to invest in others' success, but I also owe much of my own growth to the commitment of past RAs who mentored me. Their dedication to me shaped my approach toward leadership and service so I could do the same for others.My fellowship in the Student Industry Fellowship Program allows me to utilize my strong public speaking and project management skills to solve real-world problems and create highly persuasive solution pitches for Fortune 500 Companies. I've learned that true innovation thrives on diverse perspectives and collective dedication.
