My role as a Forensic Engineer, Civil and Structures is to determine the nature and the cause of failures in structures (subsidence, collapse, deformation, material failure, etc.) and other civil works (geotechnical, excavation, blasting, drainage, etc.), as well as building envelope issues.I carry out on-site investigation and prepare forensic reports. I also verify the conformity to code and standards of various works. Laboratory tests, simulations and structural modelling are also carried out when needed in order to verify hypotheses.My experience in both design and investigation provides me with extended comprehension of the interaction between the various systems of buildings and other works, as well as factors having an impact on their performance and durability. I have also gained a wide knowledge of codes and standards pertaining to buildings and construction in general.To this day, I have performed over 500 investigations and have been admitted four times as an expert witness in court.
