In this role, I have been responsible for developing a variety of print and digital marketing collateral for international brands like Travel Alberta, Tourism Jasper, and The Calgary Stampede and on a more local level Calgary Co-op, UFA, ATCO Energy, and others using existing guidelines or developing and implementing new brand guidelines. I touch everything from the most prominent billboards, transit shelters and murals to the smallest (digital) ads and other collateral. I am able to identify potential problems early on in projects. I am making sure I am working closely with Art Directors, Creative Directors and Copywriters to find solutions. I also ensure I am producing work effectively, correctly and as quickly as possible. I’ve also been responsible for photo retouching, photo montage and working alongside photographers to ensure our client’s photo needs are met.

With this agency, I produced print and marketing collateral for international clients like General Motors, Bayer CropScience, Certified Service, Imperial Oil, and others. I diligently enforced brand standards. I was responsible for keeping the General Motors image and logo library up to date and making sure images were correctly profiled and named.

At this agency, I was responsible for producing print advertisements and marketing collateral for a variety of clients including Coca-Cola (both US and Canada), Kraft, The Calgary Stampede, and Old Dutch, as well as a variety of local clients. I was in charge of keeping asset libraries for numerous clients organized and up to date. In this role, I also did some product photography for Kraft and a local wine producer, and I completed multiple photo shoots for Hockey Calgary.

I started my career working as a Graphic Designer for Corelio, the biggest national newspaper group in Belgium. I was hired straight out of college and over the years, worked my way up the ladder. I started doing the layout of national news pages for the popular newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. Gradually I moved into a more creative role by being responsible for news info-graphics, and working alongside national news reporters and editors in creating the paper’s front page on average 3 times a week. In the last 3 years of my tenure here I was the sole Graphic Designer responsible for DSM. A weekend supplemental glossy magazine featuring lifestyle topics like architecture, fashion, design, and literature. Working in this fast-paced environment taught me to be very efficient with my time.
