Activities in this area encompassed the design, implementation and management ( for a period ) of the “Centro de Tecnologia de Latas”, a technology center focused on the application of aluminum in can manufacturing. - Process metallurgy: Participation in the forums in which the decisions concerning aluminum rolling technology are made in Novelis Group. Projects to improve the can body stock properties. Coordination of audits on CBS processes by Novelis Inc experts. - Innovation & new products development: Member of the committee in charge of the selection of Novelis Inc innovation projects . Coordination of Novelis South America participation in corporate new product development projects

Main responsibilities:- Lab operation: Coordination of the activities of the “Laboratório de Ensaios Especiais” ( Special Test Laboratory ), an excellence center in material testing that was one of the first labs in Brazil to perform some technologically sophisticated tests like strain controlled fatigue, fracture toughness, instrumented Charpy, thermomechanical process simulations ( Gleeble ), etc.- Research works and provision of services to the industry and other institutions on the following subjects: fatigue resistance, weldability of structural steels, fracture toughness, creep, failure analysis, etc.
