At SSP, I have the responsibility of overseeing the functional design of SSP Broking. I work with internal Product Managers and external customers to identify the requirements, then work with my team of BAs and Consultants, to put together the required Epics, Features and Stories in AZD, reviewing them with the stakeholders as required. This is followed up with the architects and development teams, where I take the Product Owner role, providing clear direction on the application we are building.Whilst no longer a developer at work, my technical background helps me guide and interact with technical developers, however I also have the communication skills required to provide advice and guidance to the board, sales, operations, and commercial functions of the business. I work closely with customers during initial requirements capture, the design process and the later implementation.In April 2020, I because a Certified SAFe 5 Agilist, and provided much guidance across the teams within SSP as the process was being rolled out. I am skilled at producing traditional documentation, but normally work in AZD / VSTS in an agile environment.I have customer-facing experience, and provide pre-sales consultancy to potential clients, providing clear and concise documentation summarising the high level solutions, and work estimates.Currently I work developing software for the insurance industry, but have experience in both mobile and fixed telecommunications.I have experience in data analysis, having run a small team which pulled the data from a variety of sources together into a single SQL server database and SSAS cube, providing insights to the board and sales teams using dashboards and excel spreadsheets.As a hobby, I have created several apps for the Android platform, totalling over 1,000,000 downloads, and enjoy creating a variety of devices and mechanisms using embedded micro controllers (Arduino and ESP32) with added electronics and 3D printed parts.Specialties: Requirements capture, software architecture, design, and development.
