Caseworker For Senior Member Of Parliament
CurrentI joined the office during a period of increased workload and staffing transitions following the COVID pandemic. Despite minimal training, I quickly adapted and took on significant responsibilities as the sole member based in the constituency office. My role involved independently managing a high volume of casework and campaign issues, serving as the primary point of contact for constituents.Key responsibilities included: • Organising and managing constituency surgeries, triaging all telephone and email correspondence, and attending events or visits with, or on behalf of the MP. • Handling a large and complex caseload, ensuring timely and efficient communication with both constituents and team members. • Supported the Office Manager with diary management, organising and re-organising events, and delegating tasks through the central email inbox. • Frequently visiting Westminster to support events, cover for absent team members, and provide trusted advice to the MP on local issues and campaigns. This role required independent problem-solving, strong organisational skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced unpredictable environment.
