Soon to be Deputy Head - Secondary provision at The Grange Thatcham. Finishing as Head of Communication and online DSL at Kings Camberley. In this role I was responsible for maintaining the schools monitoring system and online safety programs. As a pastoral leader in education, I have spent the majority of my time providing emotional and practical support to students, staff and parents. This has included overseeing student welfare and behavior, offering guidance and counseling services to those struggling with personal or academic issues, and collaborating with other members of staff and outside agencies to ensure that pupils had access to a range of support services.In addition to working directly with students and contributing to the school's pastoral care program, I have also been responsible for liaising with external agencies such as social services, police, or mental health organizations. Throughout your 10-year tenure, I have developed strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills, which are all valuable assets in any organization.As a head of department in education, I have gained valuable experience in managing and leading others, as well as significant subject specific knowledge. I have been responsible for overseeing the delivery of curriculum, ensuring that teachers were providing high-quality education to students, and developing effective strategies for improving student learning outcomes.In my role, I have led a team of teachers and support staff, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure that everyone was working effectively towards common goals. This has involved communicating clearly, setting expectations, managing performance, and providing professional development opportunities for staff.Beyond managing personnel, I have been responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures within my departments, as well as managing budgets, resources, and facilities. I have been expected to work collaboratively with other departments, and engage with parents and the wider school community to promote your subject area and encourage student engagement.As a head of department, I have developed strong leadership, management, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of my subject areas and the needs of students of all levels. These skills and experiences would be valuable in many different work settings.
