Olof is a full professor in drug development, and has a PhD in radiology from Uppsala University in Sweden. He has more than 20 years’ experience in preclinical and clinical research in the fields of molecular imaging and metabolic disease. He currently leads the Translational PET Imaging research group at Uppsala University which focuses on development and validation of novel PET radiopharmaceuticals. He publishes frequently in relevant journals in his field (e.g. Diabetes, Diabetologia, J Nucl Med) and has made contributions in high impact general medical journals such as N Engl J Med and Cell Metabolism. He is recipient of several large national and international grants, in total over 4M EUR.In his part-time role as Sr Director Imaging Sciences at SME Antaros Medical AB he is involved in designing clinical studies using innovative imaging endpoints to assist understanding of drug mode of action. He is also co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of the biotech start-up Antaros Tracer AB, which is developing a range of proprietary radiopharmaceuticals towards clinical proof-of-concept, in the fields of inflammation and fibrosis. As part of the leadership team of Antaros Tracer he was instrumental in securing financing to take their lead compound through Phase 1 studies.
