Apart from the sales aspect of the job, work also includes maintaining the appearance of the store with sweeping, mopping, emptying the shredder, and taking out the bins. Show less

I… Show more In my previous working experience I was able to practice my customer service skills in welcoming customers, providing friendly service and being available to help them whenever they needed. I helped them with decision making by offering up products which fit their criteria or that I felt they would like, based off of what they had told me they were looking for, whether this was just a theme, a season, for holiday, or even if they had something more specific in mind and needed an alternative. I assisted customers with payments, returns, exchanges and even with making online orders in store which I offered to have delivered to their homes or to the store for free. In this job, I also received basic training on how to cash up the tills and prepare the cash in order for it to be ready to go to the bank. My most daily tasks consisted of stock replenishments, arrangements and also cleaning the store as I mostly worked closing shifts. Since beginning working at Quiz, I have learnt many skills such as: using a till to put through payments, attending to multiple customers at a time, and giving helpful advice and recommendations whenever possible. I have also grown my confidence in interacting with team members as well as members of the public. I am able to clean a big area quickly and efficiently thanks to my experience vacuuming and mopping the shop floor during closes as well as cleaning the back of house kitchen and toilet.Near the end of my time there, I was also trained in how to count up the tills at the end of the day when closing up the shop. Throughout my time I briefly learnt about KPIs and worked hard to include add-ons to sales I made to drive up profit whilst encouraging customers to come back again. Show less
