Brief update: I am joining KTH as Assistant Professor, starting my own group in learning for autonomous systems. Profile under reconstruction.I am a senior researcher at ETH Zurich, working in Prof. Roland Siegwart's renowned Autonomous Systems Lab. In 2021 we won the $2 million DARPA SubT Challenge with Team CERBERUS against stiff competition from NASA JPL/MIT, CMU and CSIRO, where I helped lead ASL's part of the team and developed autonomy for a long-range drone. Currently I lead our part of H2020 EU project Heron and some others. Before that I had the honor of receiving a Wallenberg/WASP Postdoctoral Scholarship to do a 2yr postdoc here. My research is in AI/ML for autonomous robots and vehicles. I have published in (and review for) top venues in both Robotics and AI/ML, which gives me a broad perspective on real-world AI and autonomous systems. I got my PhD degree in Computer Science from Linköping University in 2020 under Prof. Patrick Doherty and Prof. Mattias Villani.From my earlier life working in the tech industry, I also have extensive applied R&D experience in developing large autonomous internet systems with billion+ transactions per day. Experience with most major general programming languages, scientific programming languages and as well as technical architectures of autonomous robots.
