Provide strategic counsel and communications support for organizations at the intersection of purpose, capital markets and geopolitics. Deep expertise across purpose positioning and narratives, ESG (environment, social and governance), innovative finance and impact investing, tech for good, DE&I (diversity, equity & inclusion), global health and development. Drive the Social Impact practice’s thought leadership agenda, including editing the agency’s Purpose Decoded newsletter and Medium publication.

Serve as a guest lecturer and program collaborator for the School of Continuing Studies Professional Certificate Programs in Social Impact disciplines, including partnership and branding.

Took time off to pursue international and domestic travel opportunities and personal projects.

Advised clients on how to develop shared value strategies and integrated engagement campaigns to build brands, drive organizational goals, strengthen stakeholder relationships and advance sustainable development. I also provided strategic counsel to C-suite leaders on how to develop thought leadership platforms and shape conversations at convenings such as the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting and the UN General Assembly. In 2017 and 2018, I participated in the annual Sustainability Day event hosted by the Italian Stock Exchange in Milan (part of Euronext) as a featured speaker advising investors and corporate leaders on ESG reporting, impact investing and stakeholder engagement.

Joined the Social Impact practice within Weber Shandwick to advise clients across the private, social and public sectors, especially on projects that required a strategy consulting approach beyond core communications. While I worked on a broad range of issues, many of my assignments focused on building campaigns that promoted new and innovative models to solving challenges across climate change, public health, poverty alleviation and equality & inclusion. As the Social Impact practice’s global thought leadership lead, I spearheaded projects investigating how advances in knowledge and technology can help solve pressing issues, and elevate and accelerate a more sustainable, equitable and resilient world. These included the Innovation Trends Report series, Social Impact Insider newsletter and Purpose Decoded publication on Medium.

Asked to take on a corporate strategy function supporting Network for Good’s spinout of its software operations into a for profit subsidiary and positioning the platform to successfully take on a $10 million Series A round of investment capital to fuel its mission to unleash generosity at massive scale. In addition to supporting the CEO and CFO in the capital raise, I managed the process to secure B Corp status for the for profit spinout and integrate people and resources from other tech for good platforms we acquired during this time.

Hired by Network for Good, a leading nonprofit digital donation platform, to help build an Enterprise business unit selling donation processing software as a service to Fortune 500 and channel partner clients such as Google, PayPal, Yahoo, Capital One, Warner Bros., and Coca-Cola. My role required a mix of business development, relationship management, and content marketing skills. In my four years on the Enterprise team, I built a B2B content marketing engine, established our brand as a thought leader in corporate responsibility, employee engagement, and consumer cause marketing, and helped double revenues. As a result of my thought leadership efforts, I was named to the Guardian Sustainable Business list of “30 most influential sustainability voices in America.”

Managed the practice and client list for the book agent at The Gersh Agency. Evaluated all incoming literary submissions and advised on representation merit. Critiqued new and existing client material, including fiction and non-fiction manuscripts and screenplays. Managed all client submissions to film studios and production companies for properties by writers such as Denis Lehane, Don Delillo, H. G. Bissinger, Mary Gaitskill, Jane Heller and Beth Henley and for films such as Shutter Island and Zus & Zo (Dutch film nominated for an Academy Award). Drew up legal contracts for option and purchase rights for book and screenplay adaptations to film. Oversaw all client accounting for option and purchase agreements and writing assignments. Served as a liaison between The Gersh Agency, publishing companies, literary agencies, film studios, production companies and management firms.

Conducted supporting research and analysis for Hardball, Trading Up and Treasure Hunt, business books authored by BCG Senior Partners. Streamlined internal public relations practices and web-based tools for BCG’s marketing committee. Collated lessons from dot-com failures into a methodology for successful online business strategy. Provided historical analysis of the impact of leadership on outcomes for a US automotive company. Conducted a case study on the demise of Oldsmobile to glean learnings on successful brand strategy. Reported directly to Senior Partners.
