•Worked on a project to fabricate polyacrylamide (PAAm) gels with varying stiffness and viscoelasticity and investigate the effects of gel properties on human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) immunomodulatory potential. •Responsibilities including: reading literature, designing experiments and conducting data analysis, fabricating and characterizing PAAm gels using Rheology and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), culturing hMSCs, and conducting cellular assays including viability assays and morphology assays. •Completed 3 credit hours (9-10 hrs effort per week) of research in addition to a 15-credit course load and part-time work at an on-campus job, receiving an ‘A’ grade.

I worked in the Chemical Storage lab on campus. I managed our hazardous waste, distributed supplies to the labs, managed inventory, and prepared solutions for all the undergrad teaching labs.

I volunteered my time as an alumni mentor for The Clarkson School where I was able to regularly check-in with students who were in this program and plan programs for them.

•Worked on a project to develop a pipeline for the synthesis of DNA, mRNA, and proteins.•Responsibilities including: reading literature, designing experiments and conducting data analysis, performing Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), DNA cleanup, mRNA synthesis, culturing of and transfection of Human Embryonic Kidney (HEK 293T) cells, designing DNA sequences, designing Cas guides, transformation of bacteria, and protein purification including fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC).•Worked full time (40 hours per week) of research while attending professional development workshops.

I worked as an intern at a paper processing plant for Mativ formerly Neenah. I worked on a variety of projects including startup and shutdown procedures for our various machines as part of a cost savings project with estimated savings of $100,000. I also worked on job training documents, emergence response protocols, and I tested our varying formulations for topcoats and inks and helped revise specifications for gloss.

I have tours to prospective students and participated in open houses.
