• Responsible for optimizing daily production of 20 SAGD well pairs and 18 single producer wells, approximately 40,000 bbls/day of oil.
• Implemented Multiphase metering at Firebag, included working with ERCB to satisfy directive 17 requirements, published and presented on results at 2012 SPE Heavy Oil Conference.
• Review each well of responsibility ensuring ideal completion, including (ESP size, landing depth, ported subs, and instrumentation) and identify potential well interventions.
• Worked with engineering firms representing Firebag asset team on well pad sustaining projects.
• Responsible for numerous well pad projects, including water cut analyzer sampling and calibration, automated sampler installation, multiphase metering verification, water source well drilling.
• Successfully started up first 5 single producer wells drilled in between existing SAGD well pairs.

Firebag

• Ensured safe, reliable production through monitoring SAGD facility specs and implementing engineered changes.
• Monitoring of Oil Processing area includes KPI tracking, Chemical usage/optimization, process vessel stability, VRU performance, Flaring/Venting incidents, and water deoiling performance.
• Facilitate and organize safe work risk assessments.
• Participated in rapid results teams to fast track plant optimization strategies.
• Develop problem definitions to kick off scoping studies for sustaining projects.

• Handled Firebag's production accounting responsibilities, including maintaining plant material balances (Oil, Water, Steam), and tracking environmental non-compliance.
• Ensured accurate monthly regulatory reporting through the Alberta Petroleum Registry.
• Developed scoping studies for sustaining projects.

• Performed numerous Reservoir Engineering responsibilities on the Firebag project within the Heavy Oil Technologies group
• Assisted in developing and analyzing SAGD reservoir simulations dealing with non-condensable gas injection and well pad optimization
• Modeled temperature movement ahead of a steam front to help mitigate drilling risks.
• Responsible for daily monitoring and optimization of SAGD well performance, including ESP monitoring
• Assisted in development of and revisions for future plant design criteria.
