Caroline has +20 years of experience in international data protection and has served as legal and strategic advisor to companies within IT, media, telecommunications, energy, finance, eCommerce and biotech sectors. During five years she was working as Vice President Privacy at Klarna Bank with global responsibility for Klarna group’s data protection strategy and compliance and managing its Global Privacy Office. Today she is partner of Cirio law firm, head of Cirio's Data Privacy & Information Security Practice, and appointed as external Data Protection Officer for serveral groups. Caroline is chairman of the Swedish Data Protection Forum (Forum för Dataskydd), has during two years been a member of IAPP's European Advisory Board, coordinator of Cloud Sweden Legal, and is involved in several industry data protection advocacy efforts, working groups and task forces. She is also a frequent speaker at various Swedish and international conferences and events on data privacy topics.Caroline's broad experience in data privacy covers a wide range of operational, compliance, regulatory, strategic and policy matters. She has advised some of the world's largest organisations on issues such as international data transfers, employee related privacy matters, regulatory compliance and of advising in connection with transactions and contract negotiations. Caroline also has vast experience with regards to operational issues, governance aspects, strategic issues and in designing and implementing privacy programs (group-wide policies and strategy). Caroline's special focus as a legal advisor is to contribute to the client's business success by combining a good understanding of the business and it's special needs with in-depth knowledge in legal and regulatory matters. With a passion for progressive business and for shaping and navigating legal infrastructures she wants to improve the way business and society works.
