I’m Olumide Shode, a tech-driven impact entrepreneur who is the CEO and CTO of Alarrt. A 2017 English graduate from the University of Lagos who transitioned into tech as an undergraduate to become the full-stack Software Engineer I am today. As the CEO of Alarrt, I manage the company's overall operations, secure partnerships, create growth strategies and opportunities, and ensure the company never runs out of funds. As the CTO, I maintain our web and mobile applications and lead the engineering team in ensuring user feedback and defined milestones are completed ahead of the set deadline. I transitioned into tech because I've always been intrigued by the numerous ways technology has been leveraged to make life easier and more enjoyable. Similarly because I want to create tech-driven businesses that solve socio-economic problems in Nigeria. Alarrt, my flagship product, exemplifies this. A road safety startup that addresses the problem of inadequate emergency alerting and response systems in Nigeria. Over the past year, my team and I have kept road users in Nigeria safer by connecting them to swift medical and mechanic rescue if an emergency strikes at home or on the go. We also help them bypass traffic with real-time ‘alarrts’ on accident-triggered road blockages before getting there.
