Power System Studies – Wind and Solar Farms● Modelled the electrical network, performed studies, and prepared reports for preliminary and detailed design of BESS projects, solar and wind farms.● Performed load flow analysis using PSS/e to determine active and reactive power requirements, under strict deadlines, to enable BC Hydro initiate feasibility studies for multiple wind farms.● Conducted arc flash hazard analysis for renewable energy projects, using ArcPro 4, EasyPower, ETAP and methods outlined in CSA Z462 to determine the hazard at various equipment from 120 VAC to 240 kVAC and 125 VDC.● Conducted harmonic and flicker analysis for wind farms, using ETAP and EasyPower, to maintain compliance with harmonic current and voltage distortion limits required by AESO, IEEE 519, IEC 61400, and CSA C61000-3-7.● Performed ground grid studies for industrial and renewable energy facilities using WinIGS and CDEGS to ensure touch and step potentials at the site are below levels permissible by the IEEE 80, considering seasonal variation in soil resistivity and current split.● Performed electromagnetic interference analysis using CDEGS to ensure magnetic and electric field strength near high voltage cables are below the immunity threshold for implanted medical devices and comply with safety requirements for the public.Substation Design and Operation – Solar and Wind Farms● Prepared the operation and maintenance manual for the substation at wind and solar projects to describe operating procedures and provide guidelines for safe work on electrical equipment.● Developed the preliminary layout and detailed technical specification for substation control building to house protection panels, batteries and other electrical equipment based on client requirements.● Performed calculations to size the battery system and emergency generator required to provide uninterrupted power to a substation control building for 4 hours.

Oil and Gas Integrity Management● Worked in a multi-disciplinary environment gaining exposure to mechanical, civil, and petroleum engineering by assessing the integrity of oil and gas pipelines and tanks.● Reviewed non-destructive examination (NDE) reports, relevant drawings, and documents to quantify the risk of corrosion-based leaks for 30+ miles of liquids pipelines using a risk-based inspection (RBI) model.● Prepared dig packages, selected optimal locations for pipeline inspections and selected the NDE (visual, ultrasound, guided wave, or large stand-off magnetometry) to assess pipeline defects and provide relevant information for continuous asset management.● Recognized by the Client via Stantec’s Kudos program for diligently preparing dig packages within tight deadlines.● Organized meetings with regional project managers and subject-matter experts to prioritize or cancel dig packages to effectively manage the budget available for annual pipeline inspections.● Recommended inspections that successfully prevented three (3) corrosion-based pipeline leaks, each with a potential impact (environmental, reputation and business) of six-figures.● Assess the integrity of 32 Canadian tanks by performing tank safeguard assessments to obtain the maximum yearly interval for internal inspections in compliance with API 653.● Verify tank construction features (roof, foundation, etc.) from construction records & other vendor documents for 350 US/Canadian tanks to create a risk-based inspection model and accurately maintain tank integrity.

● Participated in electrical engineering design of modular datacenters and power distribution skids.● Developed an understanding of relevant standards such as CEC, NEC, CSA Z462 and NFPA 70E. Utilized the NEC and CEC to size cables, protective devices, and determine equipment clearances.● Performed power system analysis for medium voltage facilities, 13.8 – 35 kV using ETAP: load flow, short circuit, arc flash, ground grid design, and cable thermal analysis.
