I am a creative at heart. I also enjoy solving problems. I suppose that's why I'm drawn to programming, in particular. It's both a science and an art. Applying creativity with precision produces simple solutions to complex problems, which is very satisfying. It's even more satisfying to turn a once hobby into a full-time job. I consider myself lucky to work as a Software Engineer for Dynamic Ratings, essentially helping keep the lights on!I enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Whether troubleshooting a tricky software bug, practising one of my musical instruments, or expanding my French vocabulary, the journey itself fuels me. Especially when I vividly envision the destination, it sometimes takes discipline to stop.I am a learner for life. I don't think I'll ever reach a point in my life where I'll say, 'I know enough.' Typically, what drives me to learn is having a clear vision of what I want or need to achieve. For instance, I wanted to create a wearable musical keyboard for my secondary school Electronics class. I learned about circuit design, smart materials, C++, and multiplexing. I wanted to create a miniaturised, portable head-up display, so I learned to write low-level STM32 drivers in C and studied optics. I wanted to produce high-quality songs and tracks for short films, so I learned about vocal techniques, orchestral programming, and sound engineering, spending many years training my ears.The learning will never stop!
