Welcome to my profile, I am a research-oriented individual with a passion for mentoring early career scientists, particularly those from groups underrepresented in health science. I believe that delivering the 'hidden curriculum' that makes successful scientists is vital to building diverse and inclusive research environments. As an Associate Dean for Research at the School of Nursing at Oregon Health and Science University, I am privileged to have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals and support them in reaching their full potential through mentorship and guidance.My goal in mentoring young researchers is to reduce the disproportionate burden that social disadvantage has on lifelong health. I am a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in research, and I strive to create an environment where all individuals can feel valued, supported, and empowered in their scientific pursuits. I believe that successful scientists are those who have a passion for their work, a curious mind, and a willingness to learn and adapt. As a mentor, I work to help my mentees develop these qualities and build their skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in their chosen field.I am committed to creating a community of scientists that are leaders in their field and who are dedicated to improving the lives of others.
