During this time I worked full-time alongside graduate and post-doctoral researchers to identify immune cells involved in the pathophysiology of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease using single-cell RNA sequencing. My role was to isolate immune cells from patient.

I was funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)- Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) Program. My role as an undergraduate researcher was to work with a senior graduate student to determine whether the over-expression of glycolytic genes resulted in CD8+ T cell effector differentiation in mice models.

I participated in full-time research as an undergraduate student in the Summer Training Academy for Research Success (STARS) program at UC-San Diego. During my time in this summer program, I studied the role of the proteasome degradation machinery in CD8 + T cell differentiation.

Participant in The Plant Genomics at MSU REU program. I investigated sulfate transporters, SULTR1; 1 and SULTR1; 2, as their role in the facilitation of sulfate uptake from the soil in Arabidopsis thaliana. A few key roles included analyzing transgenic lines, observing protein-protein interactions via confocal microscopy.
