Responsible for leading the Product Development organization of the flagship DNBi product. DNBi is a Financial and Business Risk Management product generating an annual revenue of $540M. Direct a staff of 200 and control a $25M P&L.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS* Shepherded the transition to Agile. D&B was following a waterfall-based SDLC and was wasting money starting, stopping and not completing different initiatives. Led switch to Agile, facilitating the use of precious resources to drive projects to completion. Launched five new product add-on’s in six months.* Overcame a crisis. An Oracle corruption bug necessitated the reconstruction of the DNBi database but the last 48 hours of customer input was not backed up. Developed and implemented a strategy that recovered all business-critical data for customers without requiring customer reentry, enabling them to conduct their business normally.* Increasing system availability. Availability of SLA for one of the leading products was languishing around 80% and the trend was downward. Created teams and processes to manage and monitor quality of deliverables and availability issues. Drove availability to 99.9% in six months where it has stayed.* Orchestrated launch of DNBi upgrade to 500,000 diversified customers. The challenge was to install the upgrade without disturbing customers’ operations. Created a team that developed transition plans for major types of customers. Completed the customer conversions in nine months with no adverse impact to customer activity.

D&B acquired Live Capital (former employer). Retained to manage the engineering team (30) for the flagship DNBi product. Responsible for architecture, development, quality assurance and release management organizations while delivering multiple parallel product releases.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS* Led the adoption of Service Oriented Architecture and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Drove ESB roadmap definition. Won support for ESB from sales and marketing. Reduced development cost as functionalities common to different applications were now delivered through a common infrastructure.* Supported exponential growth. Scaled D&B’s Product Engineering to deliver four major releases simultaneously in order to open new international markets and develop new products. Built a team of more than 100 and a formal PMO structure. Opened the Canadian market and expanded the product to two new US business segments.

Responsible for product engineering of this VC-funded start up. Managed the development of a credit management product that won the 2004 SHA Codie Award.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS* Reinvented the product offering. LiveCapital needed to upgrade its self service business credit automation solution. Moved development offshore. Coordinated hiring, scheduling and communications. Established architecture patterns and engineering best practices. In 11 months, re-architected entire platform with a new team.
