1. Provide technical advice and guidance concerning assessment and analysis of detention and related criminal justice systems; actively participate in activities related to detention, assisting the Mobile Detentions Team and its partners in developing its capacity to understand the underlying or systemic causes of humanitarian protection problems.2. Provide technical advice and guidance concerning the management and operation of detention sites and related criminal justice systems, both formal and informal.3. Provide advice on how to best advocate with authorities at various levels to ensure compliance with internationally recognized standards and improve relevant aspects of detention. 4. Develop productive relationships with authorities at various levels in order to gather information on conditions of detention, and to trace, communicate with, and gain access to detained individuals. 5. Prepare, review, or edit information products for both NP and the humanitarian community, such as situation reports, context analyses, security briefings, detention hotspot maps, and detention center profiles. 6. Assist in continuous development and implementation of the Mobile Detention Team’s current strategy. 7. In line with NP’s strategy, develop and maintain relationships with a range of authorities, professional organizations, stakeholders and interlocutors in the country. 8. Contribute to the development and implementation of capacity building programs, as necessary.9. Participate in external meetings where detention systems and related issues are discussed. 10. Develop comprehensive knowledge of the programming and engagement of other actors active in detention-related issues.
