• Designed, built, and tested three (3) multi-antenna, MRI-compatible, radio frequency (RF) hyperthermia (HT) systems which utilize heat to enhance the tumor-killing ability of radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy in cancer treatments.• Created tools to perform routine quality assurance of such clinical applicators. Developed user-friendly multi-threaded software to control the MRI-compatible RF applicators during clinical treatment and to perform calibrations. Developed Quality Assurance procedure manuals for all clinical hyperthermia equipment designed.• Conducted experiments to optimize non-invasive thermometry (used during HT treatments) using MR image phase differences. • Developed individualized patient treatment planning and delivered clinical hyperthermia treatments to breast cancer patients, cervix cancer patients and extremity soft tissue sarcoma patients.• Technology transfer of the three hyperthermia systems (3 patents) to major biotechnology company for further development and commercialization.
