Work in a lab setting where our main objective is to create a durable coating that will cause ice to slide off of a surface with little to no force.The tasks that I do include:❏ Study alongside a graduate student the icephobic property of materials with the addition of mixtures of oils or plasticizers❏ Study the ice adhesion of surfaces with binary mixtures of oils as well as well as the relationship between the oils and the base material

As a material testing Intern, I was responsible for assisting in testing, reporting, and documentation of all JAC Products raw and finished goods according to customer specifications. My primary focus during my internship was revolved around corrosion testing using salt spray, humidity and cass chambers.❏ I communicated with program engineers to understand the desired tests needed for the new material prior to production and then reported all test data to them.❏ I worked on data entry in an excel spreadsheet for different projects; weathering, salt spray, and humidity to monitor any anomalies that would require troubleshooting.❏ Performed and evaluated testing of parts for pH 13, dye stain, chemical, film coat thickness, color and adhesion of diverse materials, over a pre-specified period of time.❏ Prepare salt tank reservoir solution used for fog testing and measured it every morning to ensure that it is within the right concentration.❏ Reporting all testing non-conformities to plant Quality Manager, Program Manager, and supplier.❏ Conducted melt flow testing to check the quality of entering materials and to estimate the flow properties for simple extrusion processes.❏ Practiced problem solving in identifying reason for malfunctioning of equipment with Engineers and project managers.❏ Calibrated instruments to assure that the instrument's measurements are accurate and within the specification limits.Downtime activities I worked on with the approval of my manager:❏ Created work instructions for scratch, Water Immersion, Copper Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray (CASS), and humidity test❏ I Improved work instructions for salt spray chamber that would help someone to do the job correctly.❏ Went through the entire Product Design and Launch process with my manager to understand the steps taken from choosing the materials to delivering the products to our customers.
