- Taught a weekly lesson plan each Friday to 23 students, teaching about Texas A&M and the various major pathways in Mays- Attended weekly meetings with other peer leaders to brainstorm ideas and approaches for each week's objectives- Fostered a sense of professional growth and belonging for freshmen enrolled in BUSN 101

- Served as 1 of 24 counselors within a camp, headed by 2 co-chairs- Acted as one of the first points of contact for incoming Texas A&M freshmen- Facilitated a discussion group with a partner for 10 freshmen- Participated in various trainings and development programs to foster a welcoming environment for incoming freshmen

As a College Counseling Intern, I was able to meet with clients and guide them into their desired institution. In addition, I also assisted in consolidating a master spreadsheet into an easier and more accessible format, making it convenient when advisors needed to look up important information. Something I was able to implement before my departure were 3 hour check-ins. This was a way to assess how things were going with each client interaction. I was able to ask how things were with their assigned counselor, and opened the discussion up for any unanswered questions. As a current college student, I was able to offer a unique insight into the college application process, and I found that clients often felt comfortable asking various questions about my pathway and the college process in general.

During my time at a Student Worker, I was able to see how a business like KD functions, as well as gain many other leadership and knowledge skills. I answered phone calls, took attendance for classes, greeted students and families, and networked with other fellow student workers.
