About Omar Wallace
Who is Omar Wallace? First and foremost Omar is a storyteller. He dreams up characters with starkly different lives than his own so that he can understand other people's life experiences and bring representation to those that may not have a voice. Born in New York, and raised in New Jersey Omar had a small world view, but it was through his work, through research and trial and error that he was able to expand this view to be able to write in different voices than his own. Leaving Jersey to attend Miami University Omar tossed himself into the deep end in rural Ohio. A vastly different experience from the suburban world he was raised in. Over the course of his tenure at Miami he has met numerous people and had many new experiences that helped to form his identity as a storyteller. The second aspect of what makes up Omar is his hobby of gaming. Video games, board games, and even sports have all led Omar to where he is today. Playing games like Pokemon, Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics, and even Skylanders when he was younger eventually evolved into League of Legends, Titanfall 2 and Overwatch as he grew up. All of this influences how he sees the world, through the lens of his interests and the interactions he has with others about these interests he understands how the industry works and how it makes people feel. To Omar, building a legacy is everything so he works hard to unite his world view, his interests, and his storytelling in such a way that will hopefully better those around him.
