My name is Omar Farouk, an early career Marine Researcher, and a Reef Ranger in charge of Research and Monitoring for REEFolution Trust, Kenya. I have experience in scientific diving, coral restoration, and ecological monitoring. My area of focus is researching and developing low-cost innovative coral reef restoration techniques that enhance community-led coral reef restoration initiatives. I have experience spearheading several projects including the Snorkeling reef project and the MARRS (Mars Assisted Reef Restoration System) project. I am also an avid diver with over 300 dives. Other skills include benthic and fish species identification, experiment set-up and monitoring, project planning and reporting, and data analysis.
