As a Credit officer, i worked in three different functions; 1. Personal Loans Origination (May 2010 - Dec 2010) 2. Personal Loans Evaluation (Jan 2011 - April 2011) 3. Business Loans Evaluation (May 2011 - Mid Oct 2011)The above mentioned functions called for due diligence will onboarding, assessing and disbursement of credit to the different kinds of banked customers. The goal was to contribute to Credit department's core objectives; 1. Reduce Credit Risk by minimizing the probability of default 2. Improve on the quality of the loan portfolio through the origination and disbursement to credit worthy customers. and; 3. Actively driving change through innovation through new ideas and adoption of new systems for the credit space to improve on the efficiency in the credit disbursement end-to-end process.

This was purely a sales function that required an individual (agent) to look for new customers to join the institution through the disbursement of personal loans. They focused on salaried employees of the Public service , the Army, NGOs and other small institutions for which the probability of default was relatively low.
