Applications Engineering Manager
CurrentConceptual development and design, pricing and detailed technical proposals of complete turn-key integrated automated packaging lines including manufactured and distributed packaging machinery.• Manage and supervise the Applications (Technical Support to Sales) team and its activities.• Analyze customer's automated packaging needs and technical data such as product samples and drawings, User Requirements Specifications (URS) and limitations in order to prepare detailed proposals for customer review. • Provide technical support and training to multiple Regional Sales Managers.• Participate in proposal presentations to customers.• Select and configure manufactured packaging machinery as required for customer applications and specifications.• Research, analyze and compare suppliers for distributed packaging machinery and validate against customer specifications.• Involve and get assistance from key members from engineering, production, management and distributors as required for projects with special applications, customization or large technical complexity to evaluate customer requirements.• Assist engineering in design and development of manufactured equipment by analyzing technical problems and working closely to customer specifications and industry needs.• Prepare technical description and specifications for packaging machinery for proposals and brochures.• Review orders to highlight technical variances with proposal and specifications.• Document and define scope of project effectively to allow Project Manager and engineering to begin work on project order.• Provide technical support to multiple Project Managers.• Lead applications engineering continuous improvement initiatives.• Participate in machine application problem solving.
