Lead engineer and system architect for the design and development of embedded systems used to control pneumatic and hydraulic valves.Provide lifecycle program and product engineering leadership sufficient to develop, design, debug, and support key products for provider of off-the-shelf and custom solutions in partnership with customers, executive leadership, sales and marketing teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders; included responsibility for lifecycle project management and manufacturing continuous improvement. Selected design achievements include:- Designed a miniature (1.9” square) controller supporting the most common serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, LIN, CAN) including up to 6 external analog inputs, 5 external digital I/O, 4 mini-potentiometer (analog inputs read by the micro-controller), and 1 H-Bridge PWM driver; integrated into 10+ different products.- Designed, engineered, and delivered on the electronics, firmware, and serial protocols for a highly engineered pneumatic valve to be used in state of the art artificial ventilator.- Spearheaded the design and delivery of a modernized and reliable replacement controller for controlling the position of pneumatic cylinders used in theme park animatronics. - Resolved space-limitation driven challenges and delivered electronics (<0.7” squared) that fit inside valve enabling customer to receive a single integrated part; added additional value by eliminating need and costs associated with extra external connectors and enclosures.
