- Motivate, coach, and collaborate with frontline team members, managers, and leaders across the health system to ensure that every MaineHealth patient receives evidence-based care in a patient-centered way with minimal risk of harm. - Member of health system senior leadership team interacting regularly with other C-suite team members and providing input on all major system-wide strategic, operational, and cultural decisions. - Top-line accountability for clinical quality, patient safety, risk management, licensing, accreditation, patient complaints, quality reporting, process improvement, patient experience, interpreter services, epidemiology, and infection prevention for 10 acute care hospitals, a medical group with 1700 employed providers, behavioral health network, home health agency, and nursing facilities. - Primary responsibility for managing a system-wide department of approximately 200 team members, including defining scope of services, recruiting and training staff, standardizing processes and technology, and integrating with other centralized and local functions across multiple locations. - Shared responsibility with health system chief medical and nursing officer and medical group president for developing and implementing long-term quality strategy and convening system-wide clinical leaders to reach consensus on annual quality, safety, and experience goals and objectives across all care settings. - Experience working simultaneously with multiple hospital and ambulatory leadership teams to achieve and maintain Leapfrog ‘A’ safety grade, improve performance on CMS star ratings across different care settings, optimize performance on value-based contracts, maintain licensing and accreditation in good standing, and facilitate deployment of technology solutions to enhance care delivery.

Lead an inter-professional team in developing and implementing the AMA's national strategy for improving health outcomes and curbing cost growth for a select group of high-impact medical conditions.

Develop and implement institution-wide strategic plan for reducing preventable rehospitalizations and optimizing inpatient length of stay through improved care integration across a large academic health system.

Inpatient medical management of medically complex general medicine patients in a metropolitan tertiary care setting; consultative services for high acuity surgical specialties, including transplant patients.

Publish original research in peer-reviewed medical journals, present research findings at national/international conferences and teach courses to medical students.
