Omar Jacfar is an accomplished marketing and communication professional with MBA from Preston University. He has 10+ years of experience in the telecom industry. During his marketing & communication career, he took different roles within the marketing & Communication department. Omar has also worked with most of the Hormuud portfolios on different marketing and communications projects such as Salaam Somali Bank, Somnet Telecom, Taaj Money transfer, Tabaarak ICT, and Hormuud Foundations. Omar has also worked with and supervised local and international Communication consultants regarding corporate communications affairs projects. The main objective of it was to craft, publish and maintain a consistent message about the company’s brand and reputation.Omar’s role included developing marketing planning and strategy, crafting result-oriented digital and traditional marketing & communication campaigns for new & existing services, proposing and planning new products and services, as well as managing different digital marketing activities. After leaving his nearly 10 years career in the telecom industry, Omar joined one of the largest private hospitals as head of marketing and communication. It was a completely different industry, but he took the challenge to learn new problems and solved them accordingly. It was a wonderful experience as he laid down the foundations of a new functional and effective Hospital marketing and communication structure.In addition, Omar has taught graduate and undergraduate classes at prominent universities such as SIMAD and Hormuud Universities. Some of the courses he taught are digital marketing, consumer behavior, marketing management, communication, and service marketing.
