About Omar Kilani

I love building products and (especially) distributed systems.Over the years, I added JSON to PHP, built the PostgreSQL website, built a Linux distribution called tinysofa, founded and built an OG Web2.0 SaaS called Remember The Milk, founded and built a Web3 service called MoonRank for the Solana blockchain, and much more.I’ve been programming since I was 8 years old, running and developing on Linux since Slackware ‘96, and am obsessed with optimizing system performance and reliability (Remember The Milk had 100% uptime from June 2021 to June 2022, until a global Cloudflare outage.)My super power is being able to debug any issue where a computer is involved and taking that from identification to pull request.I *really* like making sure the pixels are in the right place before a team ships a product. I’m the person staying up until 3am reading commits.While I can program in pretty much any programming language, I’m a huge fan of Golang for its magical “think it, type it, it works” property.
