My role provides support and guidance for local employers who are interested in apprenticeships and work based learning. The College currently offers approx 26 different Apprenticeship pathways and it is my responsibility to know these qualifications, their assessment requirements and the delivery models across all areas.This role is primarily focussed on income generation through B2B sales and liaison and requires me to manage my own diary, workload and match potential candidates to employers through an advertising and recruitment process both online and through face to face interviews.The Employer Engagement team is heavily targeted and meet regularly to discuss strategies to increase the number of apprenticeships that are managed by the Isle of Wight College. This involves some cold calling and direct marketing to employers and learners to gain new and repeat business as well as providing outreach services at events and open days across the Island.The role requires working closely with the employer to build job descriptions, adverts and identifying candidates based on the employer requirements. I then shortlist applications via this method and arrange interviews and enrolment. With the introduction of the Apprenticeship levy, my role now seeks to maximise the value to employers of their contributions and through direct feedback and LMI, ensure the college is offering a broad provision to meet the needs of the local community.As well as the day to day administrative duties such as answering enquires via email and telephone and liaising with learners and employees, I work on any other duties that are tasked to me within the purview of my role.I have also more recently provided additional support to the College marketing team and have successfully coordinated a number of events and market campaigns on their behalf.
