My role provides support and guidance for local employers who are interested in apprenticeships and work based learning. The College currently offers approx 26 different Apprenticeship pathways and it is my responsibility to know these qualifications, their assessment requirements and the delivery models across all areas.This role is primarily focussed on income generation through B2B sales and liaison and requires me to manage my own diary, workload and match potential candidates to employers through an advertising and recruitment process both online and through face to face interviews.The Employer Engagement team is heavily targeted and meet regularly to discuss strategies to increase the number of apprenticeships that are managed by the Isle of Wight College. This involves some cold calling and direct marketing to employers and learners to gain new and repeat business as well as providing outreach services at events and open days across the Island.The role requires working closely with the employer to build job descriptions, adverts and identifying candidates based on the employer requirements. I then shortlist applications via this method and arrange interviews and enrolment. With the introduction of the Apprenticeship levy, my role now seeks to maximise the value to employers of their contributions and through direct feedback and LMI, ensure the college is offering a broad provision to meet the needs of the local community.As well as the day to day administrative duties such as answering enquires via email and telephone and liaising with learners and employees, I work on any other duties that are tasked to me within the purview of my role.I have also more recently provided additional support to the College marketing team and have successfully coordinated a number of events and market campaigns on their behalf.

Working from home, this role was based within the motor insurance industry. It required meto contact all members involved in motor accidents within specified time frames; Collectwitness statements, photographs, evidence relating to damage or accidents; as well asnegotiating damages & liability with third parties.Due to the nature of that job, I am used to working towards tight deadlines and KeyPerformance Indicators as well as reporting back in verbal & written form. There were nospecified hours to this role as it was dependant on car accidents taking place on the Islandwhich although occur regularly, can often see weeks without any taking place. Although very different to the other roles I have undertaken, it has given me some great skills in negotiation and persuasion and I feel is definitely an asset to my employment experience.Please note that Quinn Direct ceased trading due to administration in 2010.

Responsible for the day to day administration of the Events Team including themaintenance and upkeep of files and documentation, External websites, www.iwight.com,minute taking and responding to general public enquiries.Coordinated the 2005 Hills Killer Challenge (Cycle Race) and acted as lead officer during theIsle of Wight Cycling Festival 2005.Coordinated the Entertainments programme for Cowes Week Parade 2006 ensuring prudentmanagement of the £20,000 entertainments budget.On site experience of stewarding and trouble shooting at all major Island events as detailedabove. Management of community grants to Isle of Wight Carnival and Regatta committees.

Coordinating, driving, supervising and staffing the SOLENT TV ROADSHOWS at all themajor tourist and community events across the Isle of Wight.In 2003 there were in excess of over 30 Roadshows that took place. Contributing to anddesigning marketing materials to raise both the brand awareness and community impact ofSolent TV.The role also required me to recruit and liaise with local and national advertisers to ensure thattheir marketing campaigns are focussed and effective.Other duties or skills obtained whilst working within the station include camera work,encoding, dubbing, running and other duties when required to do so by the production team.

Coordinating the 2003 Isle of Wight Learning Festival.The Isle of Wight Learning Festival was a three week programme of events to promote thebenefits of lifelong learning.Key duties include the planning and setup of the festival programme through engaging andliaising with local Training providers, Community groups and outside agencies to provide aneffective and inclusive range of learning activities.The day to day administration of the project includes the maintenance of project documentation, correspondence, and completion of quarterly funding reports as well as communicating with local media to ensure that the promotion of the festival increases public awareness and raises the profile of the Project. Another key duty was the coordination of the Island Skills and Learning Awards. The ISLA's seek to reward Island Learners for their Commitment to Learning. This includes the whole set up of the event starting with the initial nomination process through to the final AwardsCeremony.
